Dutch Malloy's Cartoon Cavalcade
This was to be a fictional rewriting of Animation History featuring Dutch Malloy - a
veteran of the “Golden Age of Animation” - which was anything but golden if you ask
him. -Most likely this would’ve been a series of mockumentaries with Dutch setting
the record straight - the truth from the myths. -Anyway, here’s the pitch:

The Big Idea:

In the tradition of Cartoon Network’s successful animation showcases such as “The Tex Avery
Show” and “The Bob Clampett Show”, “The Dutch Malloy Cartoon Showcase” features the best
cartoons from animation’s golden age, directed by Dutch Malloy. -Three cartoons are
featured in each episode with an introduction by Dutch Malloy himself. -The cartoons range
from silent era stuff (when Dutch got his start as a gag writer) to the sixties (when
he resorted to directing really bad valentines day specials featuring cartoon
characters that were just a little less washed up than he was).

  The Monkey wrench:

Dutch Malloy is an alcoholic, chain-smoking asshole. -The anecdotes and light hearted stories that were
expected from him are only angry memories from a frustrated, mediocre director who never climbed out
of the shadows of his more famous peers. -His stories always start out about the cartoon he’s supposed
to introduce, but it only reminds him of the severe personal problems he had at the time that
cartoon was made. -Each cartoon is only a slap in his face, reminding him that he was always in the
shadows of more famous directors.
